James Tackett is the Vice President of Homeland Security for Rivada Networks. He has over 25 years of experience in all aspects related to homeland security and command, control, communications, and computers (C4) with extensive experience in program management, homeland defense, C4 architectures, networks, system design, software development, acquisition, plans, policy, and business development. James spent over 20 years in the United States Air Force (USAF) as a Communications-Computer Officer providing services to the U.S. Northern Command, in the Air Operations Center, Osan Air Base, South Korea, the National Defense University, the U.S. Air Force Academy, and the Air Force Space Command. Prior to joining Rivada he spent three years at The Sytex Group, a business unit of Lockheed Martin.
He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Regis University, a Masters in Business Administration from Regis University, and is completing his Doctorate in Computer Science at Colorado Technical University. James has taught computer science and network courses as an adjunct professor at the United States Air Force Academy and the National Defense University. He is certified in the Department of Defense’s Acquisition Professional Development Program.
