| Rivada Networks sponsors Forum on Public Safety   2007

For the third year in a row Rivada Networks will support the Forum on Public Safety in Europe and North America at the University of Limerick on August 8th 2007. The purpose of the Forum is to discuss the overall subject of public safety: policy, implementation and communications challenges in Europe and North America. The Forum will feature senior policymakers, legislators and thought leaders from across Europe and the United States, who will discuss the challenges that policymakers and implementers face in trying to ensure greater public safety. It will focus on issues such as: Inter-Governmental Coordination and Collaboration, Interoperable Communications, Cyberspace, Policy and Legislative Innovation, Understanding Radicalization, Community Relations and Intelligence Gathering, the Western Alliance and Critical Infrastructure Protection.

Representatives from Governments and public safety/defense services from across Europe the United States will be present throughout the entire Forum programme, coming from the ranks of senior policymakers and legislators, and leaders in Government and public safety/defense agencies, whose work includes policy and/or utilisation of technologies to combat the threat of international terrorism, crime, natural disasters and other challenges. Panelists will share opinions and discuss possible solutions to the problems and challenges currently facing the public safety/defense community . There will also be a discussion on lessons learned from the events surrounding the cyber-attacks in Estonia as well as discussions on radicalisation and intelligence gathering.

The findings/opinions arising from the Forum's discussion will be submitted to, and considered by, the Eurpopean Parliament and the United States Congress.
