Satellite space race to help challenge the ‘rise of autocrats’

Irish entrepreneur and burgeoning satellite king Declan Ganley says telecommunications is the new battleground as the world faces its biggest geopolitical challenge following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

Mr Ganley, whose company is preparing to launch 600 satellites and build some ground stations in Australia, said the West should be focused on a race to launch smarter satellites to tame the ambitions of autocracies such as China and Russia.
